Step by Step

Explore Iceland's wilderness with this semi-rigid boat (RIB) excursion from Reykjavík harbour. For two exciting hours, you'll cruise the stunning Faxaflói Bay in search of humpback whales, minke and other marine giants that inhabit these cold, crystal-clear waters.

Thanks to its compact size and great manoeuvrability, the semi-rigid boat will allow you to safely and respectfully approach the whales, giving you an intimate and memorable experience. On board you will be accompanied by an English-speaking guide who will explain the animals' behaviours and point out the best moments to capture unique photos.

If you travel between May and August, the tour includes a stop at Akurey, known as Puffin Island, where thousands of these adorable birds nest on the cliffs. This stop is ideal for birdwatchers and for those who want to add an extra special touch to the experience.

After the tour, you can continue your day by visiting the Whales of Iceland exhibition, where life-size models, sound effects and informative content will help you understand even better the world of these amazing cetaceans. This entrance is included with your ticket and must be used on the day.

If you do not see any whales during the tour, you will have the opportunity to repeat the tour for free within 30 days.

Audio only in English; my parents understood little, but the whales speak universal.

High but fair price for guidance, costumes and free replay if you fail.

After the tour I walked 15 min to the exhibition; the route was signposted and easy, even in windy weather.
