Raufarhólshellir, one of the most impressive lava tunnels in the world, was formed after the eruption of the Leitahraun field more than five millennia ago. This tour takes you inside: just 30 minutes from Reykjavík, a subterranean landscape of rock columns, cavities up to 30 m wide and natural light contrasts with the ancient darkness.

You will start by boarding a luxury bus at Reykjavík BSI station, where your English-speaking guide will welcome you and hand you a helmet and torch. On the outward journey (40-45 min), you'll receive an introduction to Iceland's volcanic geology, laying the groundwork for understanding the grandeur of the lava formations.

Arriving at the entrance to the tunnel, you will descend underground and walk for 1 hour through passages carved out of the molten rock.
