Step by Step
Immerse yourself in the beauty and culture of the Tuscan wine region with this day trip from Rome to Montalcino and Montepulciano. From the comfort of your transport, you can admire the breathtaking scenery of the Tuscan countryside as you make your way to these charming medieval villages.
Upon arrival in Montepulciano, embark on a guided tour of its charming historic centre. Explore its cobbled alleyways, lively squares and nooks and crannies that have served as backdrops for films such as 'Twilight'. Afterwards, take some free time to stroll around at your own pace, discover local shops or enjoy a refreshing ice cream while taking in the breathtaking views of the countryside.
You will continue to a local 13th century wine cellar, where you will participate in a wine tasting guided by an experienced sommelier. In this historic setting, you will taste some of Tuscany's finest wines, while learning about the meticulous winemaking process and discovering a 2,000-year-old Etruscan tomb next to the ancient refectory used by the friars.
After the tasting, you will head to Montalcino, a medieval town where you can visit the ancient convent of Sant'Agostino, now converted into an interactive museum dedicated to the Temple of Brunello (not included in the price). In the evening, you will board the bus to return to Rome, taking with you unforgettable memories of a day immersed in the beauty, flavour and history of Tuscany.
