Step by Step

This full-day excursion to Naples and Pompeii from Rome is designed for those who want to get out of the capital and get to know two of the most emblematic destinations in southern Italy in comfort and without complications. Early in the morning, you will meet your group at a central point in Rome and board an air-conditioned bus, where an assistant/tour leader will be waiting to explain the day's programme and take care of the organisation.

The first highlight of the day is Pompeii, a Roman city that was frozen in time after the eruption of Vesuvius. Thanks to the included entrance ticket to the site, you can enter the interior and walk through its cobbled streets, enter ancient courtyards and squares, see the forum, the remains of private dwellings, taverns, baths and temples. It is a visit that gives you a very concrete idea of what daily life was like almost two thousand years ago.

During your time in Pompeii you will have the opportunity to see frescoes, mosaics and architectural details that are still preserved, as well as to appreciate the urban layout of the city and the magnitude of the volcanic catastrophe. The visit takes place at your own pace, following the assistant's instructions regarding the meeting time, and you can take advantage of the information panels on the site to learn more about the history of the place.

After the archaeological part, the bus will continue to Naples, a vibrant, chaotic and fascinating city. There you will have free time to experience it on your own: stroll through the narrow streets of the historic centre, visit some of its most famous squares, admire the views of the gulf or simply sit down to a traditional Neapolitan pizza with an espresso or a sfogliatella. It's the perfect time to soak up the city's unique character.

At the end of the day, after the stipulated time in Naples, you will rejoin the group and the assistant for the bus ride back to Rome. In just one day you will have combined a great archaeological classic and a city full of life, with all the essentials included: transfers, assistance during the trip and entrance to Pompeii, without worrying about separate tickets and connections.

We loved it. The guide-accompanier was very good and attentive to everyone. We did not book a local guide in Naples and the excavations in Pompeii, and she was very friendly and professional with us, excellent for her.

Pompeii, we loved it, very interesting although it would require more time to visit it. The guide was very good. The lunch stop is not in the best place, the pizza is not delicious, and the espresso coffee is included, but if you order any other they charge you 3 euros.

The transport service from Rome to Pompeii was very good, quite comfortable. The driver was very responsible, punctual at the time of departure to the destination and vice versa. The guide was very nice and professional, she gave us many recommendations to get to know the historical complex of Pompeii. The ruins are impressive, especially the amphitheatre.
