Step by Step
If you only have one day to explore Iceland's natural contrasts, this combination tour is ideal for you. Starting from Reykjavík, you will embark on a guided hike to the eruption site of the Fagradalsfjall volcano, one of the most spectacular areas on the Reykjanes Peninsula. During the hike you will cross moss-covered lava fields and steep mountains while your guide shares with you information about the geology and volcanic activity.
The duration of the hike varies between 2 and 4 hours depending on the conditions of the terrain, making each visit unique. After the hike, you will walk along the Reykjanes peninsula, with views of unusual landscapes and, if time permits, a brief stop at the geothermal area of Seltun.
In the evening, after a break, you will continue your adventure in the hunt for the Northern Lights. The tour is adapted to the daily weather conditions, so the best location is chosen to maximise your chances of seeing this natural phenomenon.
Before setting off in search of the northern lights, you'll visit the Aurora Reykjavik centre, where you'll learn the science behind the light show. Although the Northern Lights are not guaranteed to appear, you will have the opportunity to repeat the tour on another date at no extra cost if you fail to see them.
