Les Bleus conceded the first goal in the 22nd minute, when Mikel Oyarzabal converted a penalty, and the second in the 58th minute, scored by Pedro Porro. The French team failed to find any gaps in the Spanish defence, and their key attackers were barely able to create any clear-cut chances.

The defeat rules France out of what would have been their third consecutive final, having won the 2018 World Cup and reached the 2022 final. The team must now regroup to conclude the tournament against England, who also lost their semi-final after leading going into the final minutes.
