Experience Highlights

Explore the vineyards of the Napa Valley in a different way aboard a motorised replica of San Francisco’s classic cable cars. For around 6½ hours, you’ll travel through the northern part of the valley whilst enjoying the scenery, the guide’s stories and various stops at wineries.

The itinerary includes three wineries or tasting rooms, including Castello di Amorosa, one of the tour’s most striking stops thanks to its architecture inspired by a medieval castle. The other stops may vary depending on the season and availability.

Midway through the day, you’ll enjoy a family-style lunch, with bottled water included. Wine tastings at the wineries are not included in the price and can be purchased separately at each stop.

Step by Step

The experience begins in Yountville, where you’ll board a very special vehicle: a motorised, open-top replica of San Francisco’s famous cable cars. As you travel north through the valley, the landscape is dotted with vineyards, small villages and vine-covered hills.

During the journey, the guide will share interesting facts about Napa, its winemaking tradition and the areas of St Helena and Calistoga. The route is designed so that you can enjoy both the journey and the stops, without having to worry about driving.

One of the highlights is Castello di Amorosa, a winery built to resemble a medieval castle. There, you’ll have time to explore part of the grounds and, if you wish, book a wine tasting on your own.

The tour continues with visits to two further wineries or tasting rooms in the area. These stops may vary depending on the season, so the exact itinerary isn’t always the same. At each one, you can decide whether you’d like to take part in the tastings on offer.

Between visits, you’ll enjoy a home-style lunch accompanied by bottled water. You’ll then continue the tour through the valley before returning to the same departure point in Yountville.
