Step by Step
You'll begin your adventure at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park, climbing aboard iconic US Navy ships, including the legendary USS The Sullivans. For about 25 minutes you'll walk around the deck and outbuildings as your guide introduces you to the city's naval history.
Next, you'll board the double-decker bus for a panoramic tour. You'll pass the iconic Guaranty Building, one of the world's first skyscrapers, and enjoy live commentary on its Art Deco architecture and its importance in urban evolution.
The tour continues to Lafayette Square, where you'll admire the Lafayette Hotel, the work of America's first female architect and home to great stories of Buffalo's high society. Next, you'll cross in front of the Richardson Olmsted Campus, a former psychiatric hospital with an avant-garde design, if time permits.
In Niagara Square, you'll stop at the majestic Buffalo City Hall, surrounded by the Federal Court House and the McKinley Monument. Here your guide will share local legends, including ghost stories and the city's connection to the birth of aviation.
To close, you'll return to Naval Park with the bus, where you can hop off and conclude an experience that combines culture, architecture and anecdotes in two charming and fun-filled hours.
