Step by Step

Franklin Park Zoo offers a convenient way to discover species from different continents without leaving Boston. The zoo combines large animal enclosures with family-friendly areas, so you can organise your visit with plenty of flexibility.

One of the most striking attractions is the Gorilla Grove, a seasonal area where you can observe western lowland gorillas up close and learn more about their behaviour and habitat.

In the Kalahari Kingdom, the stars of the show are the African lions, whilst in the Giraffe Savannah you can see Masai giraffes. The tour allows you to alternate between mammals, birds and other species in different themed areas.

If you’re travelling with children, your ticket includes access to the children’s zoo and the playground, two areas that round off the experience with more interactive activities.

You can explore the park at your own pace. Please note that once your ticket has been scanned, you will not be allowed back in if you leave the premises.

    We went at a fairly busy time and the children’s playground was full, although it was fine in the animal enclosures.
