Step by Step
London cannot be understood without the legacy of two of its most fascinating neighbourhoods: Soho and Covent Garden. This free tour takes you on a journey through the streets that saw the birth of countercultural movements, musical explosions and social transformations that marked the identity of the city.
The tour starts in Soho Square, where your guide, easily recognisable by his umbrella or purple flag, will welcome you in front of St Patrick's Church. From there, you'll walk through the places where rock legends such as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin shone, as well as immersing yourself in the cultural richness of Chinatown, Greek Street and the artistic and intellectual atmosphere that has historically characterised this area.
In Covent Garden, the former epicentre of the fruit and vegetable trade, now a hub for street art and theatre in London, you'll enjoy a mix of Victorian and modern, traditional and avant-garde.
During the tour you'll also pass Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, the Palace Theatre, St. Paul's Church and other iconic landmarks, while hearing stories that combine celebrity glamour with the shadows of darker times, such as outbreaks of disease and historical conflict.
The free tour format allows you to rate the experience according to your own personal criteria, rewarding the dedication of the guide and encouraging a closer, more dynamic and enriching experience.
