Experience Highlights
Feel the power of a 4×4 quad bike under your hands and enter the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert on the outskirts of Douz, Tunisia's "gateway to the desert". The 1-hour experience starts from a campsite 5 km from the centre, where you will receive a helmet, goggles and a short safety briefing (languages: English, French, Spanish and Arabic).
Suitable for over 16s (passengers from 8 years old in tandem), the route crosses dune ridges and dry salt lakes, with photo stops and driver changes if you're travelling as a couple. The guide opens the track on his own quad, sets the right speed and points out the best angles to capture the contrast between the sunset and the rolling sand.
- Book your quad now and guarantee small group departures.

Step by Step
After you've arrived at the camp, the team will adjust your helmet, give you dust goggles and explain the basics of the vehicle: throttle on the handlebars, disc brake and balance position when attacking the climbs. After a couple of test laps, you'll feel confident enough to take on the dunes.
The caravan moves in single file to minimise the impact on the fragile surface. Each turn reveals new textures: sharp ridges shaped by the wind, oases of tamarack trees that break the monotony and, with luck, tracks of fennec foxes or nomadic camels. The guide stops at the top of a panoramic dune so that you can turn off the engine and listen to the absolute silence of the desert, broken only by the rustle of the sand.
As you start off again, the sunset lights tint the horizon with warm tones reflected in the silica grains. The last stretch takes advantage of the natural curves to make fun esses before returning to camp. There you can refresh yourself with mint tea and review the images captured with your camera or mobile phone protected in a sand case.
