Step by Step

As soon as you disembark in Mgarr you'll see the distinctive red buses ready to start your adventure. Two routes -Blue Line and Purple Line - intertwine to cover 14 stops including Ta' Pinu Basilica, Victoria Citadel and the photogenic Xlendi Bay. Changing lines is as easy as getting off at the designated stop and waiting for the next vehicle.

The audio guide reveals secrets of the Knights of St John, the mythology surrounding the Neolithic temple of Ġgantija and the stories of the fishermen who still mend nets in the shade of the colourful boats. Between stops, the sea breeze and views of the limestone cliffs make the journey part of the experience.

If you're looking for a dip, hop off at Ramla Bay to enjoy the reddish sand or at Xwejni Salt Pans to see the centuries-old salt pans. Prefer culture? Explore the narrow streets of Victoria, savour freshly baked pastizz and climb the ramparts of the Cittadella for 360° panoramic views of the island.

The 45-minute frequency gives you total freedom to time your visit without rushing. In addition, the buses have Wi-Fi on board and retractable roofs that close in case of light rain, allowing them to operate all year round.

At the end of the day, simply return to Mgarr to connect with the ferry to Malta or enjoy a fish dinner in front of the illuminated harbour. The ticket remains valid until the last service, so you can squeeze every minute of Mediterranean light.
