Starting with the Piazza del Campo in Siena, which is the city’s largest public space as well as one of the largest medieval squares in Europe. The impressive Siena Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built in the 13th century. Not to mention San Gimignano, a small walled medieval village whose historic centre has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Reviews
- II.Siena is a beautiful... medieval town. It is possible to take a day trip from Florence, but don't take the bus. Siena is full of shops and restaurants. There are many tourists there. Piazza del Campo is a historic square... where several movies were filmed. There is the tower and the Palazzo Pubblico. It is worth a visit!
- SS.This was a trip we made for the mother-in-law. The history of Siena about the districts and the horse race is very interesting as well as the ancient architect half wrong. I loved the wine and food and our guide at the winery was excellent and friendly. We ordered bottles to be shipped home to the USA. Then we went to San Gimignano, again nice history and mid architect wrong. highly recommend this trip.
- AA.Our driver/guide picked us up at the hotel. His English was excellent and his knowledge of Siena and San Gimigiano was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at a lovely winery. The driver even stopped at the American cemetery just outside Florence, as we had expressed an interest in seeing it. It was an excellent tour
- RR.A wonderful tour. The small group worked very well. The tour guide was great and informative. The places visited were wonderful.
