Step by Step
The Leonardo3 Museum has become a point of reference for lovers of the Renaissance and innovation. Located in a privileged setting in Milan, it pays tribute to the universal genius with an interactive exhibition that combines scale models of his inventions - from a submarine to a repeating crossbow - and the latest augmented reality techniques for his paintings.
As you enter, you'll be greeted by information panels that review Da Vinci's scientific and artistic career. You'll be able to touch the cranks that set his hydraulic mechanisms in motion or turn the shuttlecocks that illustrate his flight studies, all while listening to the explanations of the audio guide (optional).
One of the great attractions is the digital restoration of The Last Supper, projected in high resolution to reveal details barely perceptible to the naked eye. In addition, the recent addition of the section dedicated to The Lady with the Ermine allows visitors to analyse this famous portrait through interactive panels detailing its artistic secrets.
The tour is not exhausting: with a fair size, it offers resting points and contemplation areas before reaching the flight simulator, where you can experience the aerodynamic principles that Da Vinci dreamt of centuries ago. The offer is completed with a space for educational workshops and a small bookshop where you can buy the "Codex on Flight", a special edition that delves into his original manuscripts.
