Step by Step
This excursion to Normandy from Paris takes you to some of the key sites for understanding the D-Day landings of 6 June 1944. You’ll travel in a comfortable coach accompanied by an expert guide, who will help you understand the context of each location within the military strategy and the human stories that shaped that day.
The tour begins at Utah Beach, one of the sectors where American forces landed. There, you’ll also visit the Utah Beach Museum, situated right next to the beach itself and dedicated to explaining the operation through historical artefacts, testimonies and period material. You’ll then have a break to enjoy a two-course lunch with a glass of cider at a local restaurant in the Grandcamp-Maisy area.
The tour continues to Pointe du Hoc, where US Rangers scaled the cliffs to attack German positions. Bunkers, craters and other traces of the fighting can still be seen there. You will then visit the American Cemetery in Normandy, situated above Omaha Beach, a place of remembrance and tribute where thousands of American servicemen are laid to rest.
The final major stop will be Omaha Beach, one of the sectors where the fighting was fiercest on D-Day. Contemplating this peaceful landscape today whilst learning about what happened there allows you to grasp the historical and human scale of the operation before setting off on the return journey to Paris.

- AA.It was a very well thought out package. The bus trip was comfortable, the D-Day beaches, the farm and the cider tasting. We had the exact time to do everything but it was very complete.
