Step by Step
Make the most of Copenhagen with this canal cruise. The tour lasts around an hour, during which a local guide will accompany you on board. They’ll provide a live commentary as you pass by some of the capital’s main attractions , such as the famous Little Mermaid or the Christianshavn neighbourhood.
Nyhavn, for example, is one of the cosiest canals in central Copenhagen and the perfect spot from the boat to experience that Danish ‘hygge’ atmosphere – a word they coined that essentially means taking time out from the daily rush to be with the people you love, or even on your own.
It is one of the best-known canals for this cruise, during which you’ll see its many colourful buildings and lively atmosphere. This makes it the ideal way to see the Danish capital from a different perspective.
During the boat trip, you’ll have the chance to pass by and see some of these points of interest:
- The Little Mermaid: this famous statue in Copenhagen harbour commemorates Hans Christian Andersen’s sad tale of the mermaid who gave up everything for a prince’s desperate love. It is one of the main attractions drawing tourists to the city.
- Christianshavn: the colourful houses and idyllic canals make Christianshavn a unique place and one of Copenhagen’s most picturesque neighbourhoods.
- Copenhagen Opera House: this is Denmark’s national opera house and is regarded as one of the most modern in the world.
- Amalienborg: this is the Danish royal family’s winter residence.
Please note that children under 5 travel free of charge, although you must include them in your booking.
