Step by Step
This 2-day tour from New York is the easiest and most comprehensive way to discover the history, politics and culture of the United States while visiting Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and the traditional Amish community of Lancaster.
The adventure begins with a drive through New Jersey and Pennsylvania to Philadelphia, where you'll explore the historic area: the Liberty Bell, Constitution Square, Congress Hall and Elfreth's Alley, the oldest inhabited street in the country. You'll continue with a scenic tour of the city, passing through the financial district, Benjamin Franklin Parkway and the iconic Rocky Steps.
The journey continues to Lancaster County, home of the Amish. Here you will experience an authentic Amish experience with a buggy ride through traditional Amish farms. You will learn how this community has preserved their way of life for centuries, adapting sustainable technologies to create self-sufficient farms.
After arriving in Washington D.C., you'll rest at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Alexandria, where you'll spend the night with continental breakfast included.
Day two begins at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial on the banks of the Tidal Basin. You will then visit Arlington National Cemetery, where you will attend the Changing of the Guard and see the Kennedy family graves.
The tour continues along Capitol Hill, with stops in front of the Capitol and the White House, and continues with a visit to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. You will also tour the major memorials: Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Korean War and Vietnam War.
Once the tour is complete, you'll make your way back to New York in the evening. An ideal experience for those who want to see the essentials of these cities without worrying about the organisation and logistics of the trip.
