On this tour of Central Park featuring film locations, you’ll discover why this vast New York park is one of the most frequently used settings in the history of film and television. For approximately two hours, you’ll wander its paths accompanied by a guide whilst spotting places you may have seen dozens of times on screen.
The route combines more than 30 film locations with some of Central Park’s best-known spots. You’ll be able to recall scenes from romantic comedies, family films, musicals and TV series whilst listening to anecdotes about the film shoots and discovering how these places were transformed into natural film sets.
During this stroll through New York’s film culture, you’ll see, amongst others:
- Bethesda Terrace: recognise one of the locations from *The Avengers* and *Elf*, as well as one of Central Park’s most photographed spots.
- Wollman Rink: admire the famous ice rink featured in *Serendipity* and other productions set in New York.
- Naumburg Bandshell: visit this historic amphitheatre, used as a filming location in *Breakfast at Tiffany’s* and *Law & Order: SVU*.
- Home Alone 2 location: pass by the spot where Kevin McCallister feeds the pigeons during his New York adventure.
- Scenes from Glee and Enchanted: discover some of the spots where musical numbers and scenes set in the heart of the park were filmed.
- Other spots in Central Park: the route can also take you past places such as Bow Bridge, Gapstow Bridge, The Dairy, Sheep Meadow or Cherry Hill, combining film locations with a unique tour of the park itself.
