Professional basketball arrived in Florida's most famous city in the 1988–89 season with the creation of the Miami Heat, part of the NBA's expansion in 1987. Although their history is relatively recent, they quickly established themselves as a powerhouse:

The Kaseya Center box office is only open on game days, starting three hours before tip-off. It gets pretty hot in Miami, and I'm sure you don't want to wait in line outside the arena.

The United States is not a cheap country, and to see a live sporting event, you'll have to get used to opening your wallet. However, prices are not as high as you might think. A good seat (with a clear view of the court) usually costs around €90.

A holiday in the United States is not cheap, so it is useful to know some tips for saving money on Miami Heat tickets:

• Seats located in the corners are slightly cheaper than those in the central area.
• The most affordable prices are in the area furthest from the court, at the top of the arena (sections 401 to 420).
• If the opponent is not in the NBA elite, you can find deals for around €30 per ticket (sometimes even less!)
• The NBA preseason is much less expensive than the regular season. Usually, the big-name players stay on the bench, and this is reflected in the ticket prices. Plus, it can be an opportunity to see the young talents who will be taking the league by storm in the future

Otherwise, the same advice applies as for other teams: choose midweek games and buy your tickets well in advance.

The most loyal fans have no doubt: the best seats are in sections 106/107 and 118/119. To be more specific, in sections 106 and 118, the higher seats are more desirable, while in sections 107 and 119, the lower seats guarantee a better view.

The Dewars Club deserves an honourable mention. Specifically, they are located on the second level, between the lower and upper sections. The first 10 rows in sections 101 to 124 guarantee access to this area of the stadium. If you can, reserve a seat near the front railing for the best view of the court.

Sorry, that's not possible. The FXT Arena does not organise guided tours. When there are no events taking place, the Arena staff carry out maintenance on the facilities. If you're passionate about basketball, you can console yourself by visiting or doing the following attractions/activities:

• Miami Heat Store, the team's official store. Ideal if you want to buy jerseys, caps, sweatshirts and much more. It is located on the ground floor of the stadium (601 Biscayne Boulevard).
• Grails, in case you can't get tickets for the FXT Arena. This bar/restaurant broadcasts all NBA games and is known for its great atmosphere. It is also known for the Sneaker Cocktail, a drink that is drunk directly from a shoe. Incredible, right? (2800 N Miami Avenue)
• Play basketball with the locals. There are several courts in the city where you can play this exciting sport. The best ones are at Margaret Pace Park, Coconut Grove (2845 Brickell Avenue) and Palm Island Park (159 Palm Avenue, Miami Beach).

The 2025-2026 NBA season will follow the usual format: it only stops during the summer, and games are played even on holidays such as Christmas and New Year's Day. This means that if you visit Miami during the winter, you'll have a good chance of seeing the Heat in action at the Kaseya Center.

Here is the general schedule for the season:

• Pre-season – between late September and early October 2025. These are warm-up games that serve to fine-tune the team and give young talents some playing time.
• Regular Season – 82 games (41 home and 41 away), from early October 2025 to mid- or late April 2026.
• All Star Game – the NBA's most festive weekend, with three-point and dunk contests, and the game between the stars of the Eastern and Western Conferences. In 2026, it will be held in February.
• Playoffs – the top eight teams in each conference battle for a place in the finals, from mid-April to early June.
• Finals – played as a best-of-seven series; the team that wins four games takes the championship ring.

Rivalries

Some games in the 2025-2026 season will have a special flavour due to the intensity of their historic rivals:

• Orlando Magic – The "Sunshine State rivalry" pits two cities only 230 miles apart against each other. On these nights, the Kaseya Centre vibrates like never before.
• Indiana Pacers – A tense duel due to the media difference between the two franchises.
• Boston Celtics – A more recent rivalry, fuelled by stars and high-level matches.
• New York Knicks – Very close match-ups that are often decided by a few points.
• Dallas Mavericks – An intense rivalry, marked by inflammatory statements from its owner.

NBA games are played in four quarters with a 15-minute break between the second and third quarters. Unlike European leagues, each quarter consists of 12 minutes (instead of 10). For this reason, the actual playing time is 48 minutes, but counting foul breaks and timeouts, it can easily exceed an hour and a half.

For all home games, children under the age of two may enter free of charge. Children must be accompanied by an adult (with a valid ticket) and must share a seat with their parent or guardian. To avoid any issues, it is advisable to bring documentation such as a birth certificate.

Yes, during the month of December, the NBA is still in the middle of its regular season, and the Miami Heat's schedule for the 2025-2026 season includes several games on Christmas dates. This means that if you visit Miami during those weeks, you will have many options to watch a live game at the Kaseya Centre. What's more, this is a time when there are usually more tickets available, so you'll have a better chance of finding good seats.

Where to eat

If you don't want to waste any time, I recommend choosing one of the stadium restaurants. If you're in the mood for fast food, you can grab a hot dog at Downtown/Uptown Dog (sections 112 and 407) or a chicken burger at Chicken Ciao (sections 108 and 309). Craving Mexican food? Then Bodega (sections 108, 124 and 303) is the place to go.

If you don't want to wait inside the Kaseya Centre, you can have lunch or dinner at the following establishments:

• Esotico Miami, a corner of Hawaii in Florida. In reality, its cuisine is more eclectic, fusing the classics of the archipelago with specialities from Asia and Latin America (1600 NE 1st Avenue #102).
• Eleventh Street Pizza, New York-style pizza just a stone's throw from the Kaseya Centre. At the restaurant, you also have the option of trying a slice (or more) instead of a whole pizza (1035 N Miami Avenue).
• Black Market, an establishment with a highly varied menu. Here you can sample a crispy chicken sandwich, pulled pork, nachos, mac 'n' cheese and much more (401 Biscayne Boulevard Unit 225-N).
• Jaguar Sun, an elegant restaurant famous for both its oysters and pasta dishes. It also has a good cocktail menu. In my opinion, it's a good place to go after the game.
• Lost Boy, known for its happy hours and drinks (157 E Flagler Street)

Where to park

Have you booked a hire car? Are you staying outside Miami and unable to use public transport? In this case, you can leave your vehicle in the following car parks:

• Bayside Marketplace. For some special events, it also offers valet parking. You can find more information on the official website (401 Biscayne Boulevard).
• Ultra Park LLC, the closest car park to the Kaseya Centre. Once you've parked, it's less than a five-minute walk (700 Biscayne Boulevard)

When to go to the stadium?

To avoid queues and enjoy the match, it is advisable to arrive well in advance. If you have a little time, you can take a short walk to Spanish Navy Plaza, a public square in downtown Miami, or the Giant Head Statue, a large sculpture representing a face.

Wi-Fi connection

The Kaseya Centre is the most important sports venue in South Florida. Therefore, it is essential to have a good and secure connection inside. This allows fans to rewatch highlights and check live statistics. Simply select the network from those available and proceed with identification.

The home of the Miami Heat is just a stone's throw from the marina and Freedom Tower. To get there , you can choose a free option: the monorail. In Florida's metropolis, this mode of transport is called the Metromover. The line that comes closest to the stadium is the Inner Loop. From downtown, simply get off at the Freedom Tower stop.

Alternatively, you can choose two other Metromover lines: Brickell Loop and Inner Loop. In both cases, simply get off at the College North stop and walk for less than 10 minutes.
