Step by Step
Discover why the South Kaibab Trail is famous for its unforgettable views as you descend a ridge that offers unique panoramas of the Grand Canyon. Unlike other trails, here every turn offers a jaw-dropping spectacle of colour, rock formations and skyline.
The day starts early at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, where your licensed guide will explain the itinerary, safety and provide you with a backpack, trekking poles and snacks. After a short approach hike, you will start your descent from Yaki Point, the trailhead, feeling the immensity of the canyon at your feet.
On the descent you will reach Ooh Aah Point, famous for its natural viewpoints; Cedar Ridge, where you will rest and enjoy your included lunch; and, if the group allows, Skeleton Point, a less travelled but equally spectacular spot. Along the way, your guide will narrate the geological formation of the canyon and the ecosystems that coexist here.
The pace of the hike is moderate, with several stops to hydrate, take photos and admire the scenery. Safety is emphasised: you should bring your own water bottle and follow the guide's instructions. The return ascent is done at a leisurely pace to avoid overexertion.
At the end, you will return to the meeting point where, if you wish, you can ask for recommendations to explore other areas of the park on your own. This experience is perfect for both first-time hikers and regular adventurers looking for an easy challenge and postcard-perfect scenery.
