Step by Step

Egypt 1 Slot Canyon is one of the most accessible and fun canyons in southern Utah. The approach is short and easy, leaving you more time to enjoy the narrow narrows and challenging overhangs and assisted climbing sections.

For beginners and families, the guide will organise 3 low abseils that allow you to feel the adrenaline rush without the hassle. More experienced climbers can opt for team downclimbs, where mutual support manoeuvres are used to descend without a rope. These manoeuvres encourage collaboration and trust, making this an excellent group exercise.

The inner course of the canyon will surprise you with its smooth sandstone walls, wet spots after heavy rains and unexpected turns in the rocky corridor. Although the canyon drains quickly, after rainy spells it can hold some water, which adds an extra point of excitement.

The tour ends by climbing back into the vehicle and returning to the starting point in Escalante. During the tour, your guide will share geological stories and anecdotes about the region, enriching the experience with cultural and natural context.

This tour is subject to weather conditions; in case of heavy rain or risk of flooding, it will be cancelled for safety reasons. Punctuality is crucial: when operating MST, you should arrive early to sign the consent form and prepare calmly.
