Step by Step

This full day tour to Windsor, Stonehenge and Oxford from London is perfect if you want to see three English classics in one day, prioritising access to the mysterious Stonehenge circle while retaining freedom in Windsor and Oxford. With the Stonehenge entry-only option, you'll have an ideal balance of organised visits and free time to explore on your own.

The day starts at Victoria Coach Station, where you'll be met by the tour team and board a modern coach with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and USB ports. From there you'll head to Windsor, a charming Thames-side town dominated by the silhouette of the royal castle. This option does not include entry to the interior of Windsor Castle, but you will have free time to wander around the town, stroll the cobbled streets, approach the castle gates for photos and enjoy the typical English atmosphere in the surrounding area.

After the stop in Windsor, the tour continues to the enigmatic Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain. Here your entrance to the site and visitor centre is included, allowing you to enter the monument area, approach the stone circle to the permitted perimeter and visit the exhibition, which displays archaeological artefacts and models to help you understand the function and historical context of the site. Outside, reconstructions of Neolithic houses will give you an idea of how the communities that built Stonehenge lived.

After this immersion in prehistory, the route takes you to the elegant university city of Oxford, known as the 'city of dreaming spires'. There you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic centre, where your guide will show you the most emblematic buildings from the outside: old colleges, university courtyards, churches and libraries that have been the setting for numerous films and series. You will also have some time to explore further on your own or have a coffee before returning to the coach.

At the end of the day, the coach will take you back to London, arriving in the Victoria area. In a single day you will have combined the royal atmosphere of Windsor, the ancient mystery of Stonehenge and the academic tradition of Oxford, with the convenience of organised transport, the company of an expert guide and entry to one of the most fascinating places in the ancient world.

My wife and I decided to take the excursion for a different day, we went at a time when there were not too many tourists, so the bus was a bit empty, but the guide was always attentive to us and although we were not a very large group, we had a great time.

An incredible day, the guide had a medium level of Spanish, but you could understand what he was saying and what he was teaching us.
