Step by Step

The Lin Family Garden (Wufeng) and Lin Xiantang Museum Park form a historical ensemble encapsulating more than two centuries of Taiwanese cultural heritage. Located in Taichung's Wufeng district, this enclave was once the residence of one of the country's most influential families.

The tour includes a visit to the Lin Xiantang Museum, where you will discover manuscripts, photographs, letters and personal items documenting the life and work of Lin Xiantang, a central figure in the political and social movements of the early 20th century. Here you can also see furniture, clothing and accessories used by the Lin family, along with calligraphy and paintings by famous literary figures of the time.

In Lai Garden, the first of Taiwan's famous four gardens, the serenity of the landscape will transport you to a haven of peace steeped in history. Stroll along its paths and see how architecture and nature intertwine in perfect harmony.

Your guide will also take you to Rongjingzhai, a former residence converted into a space for the study of traditional Sinology, and to the Jingxun Building, the former home of Lin Xiantang, considered an architectural jewel for its ornamental details.

This tour is an immersion into Taiwanese history, art and traditions, a journey that connects with the cultural roots of a family whose legacy has left its mark on the country's identity.

Guide shared nice anecdotes. Lai Garden very quiet. Not enough time, but enough to fall in love.

Clear and atmospheric tour. The Jingxun House speaks for itself. Only that there was a bit of group noise next door.

Perfect for history and architecture lovers. The guide was dynamic. Perhaps the addition of an audio guide would be ideal.
