Step by Step
Join this guided tour of the Royal Chapel and Granada Cathedral, two of the city’s most important Christian monuments. The tour of both monuments lasts approximately 2 hours.
During this time, you’ll learn not only about their history, but also about their architectural symbolism and the works of art housed within them.
All these explanations will be provided by a tour guide who will accompany you throughout the tour. You’ll learn why these monuments were built, the various anecdotes that have taken place inside, as well as small architectural details. For example, the tour will highlight the works of art adorning the walls, as well as the various decorations on the arches and altarpieces.
The Gothic-style Royal Chapel is one of the largest mausoleums in the whole of Europe. Inside, one of the most striking features is the tombs of the Catholic Monarchs.
Next to the Royal Chapel stands the Cathedral, one of the earliest Renaissance buildings in Spain. This Cathedral was built on the very site where the city’s main mosque once stood.
