Step by Step

The experience begins in the cobbled courtyard of the Sa Perafita farmhouse, where the Martín Faixó family welcomes you with a glass of their Lluerna white wine. Between stone walls and rosemary aromas, your guide tells you the history of the estate, rescued from abandonment to give back to the Empordà its heroic viticulture.

You'll walk among vines caressed by the tramontana while discovering the black slate soils that give the wines their unique minerality. You will learn how the salty breeze moderates the ripening process and why the cool nights enhance the natural acidity of the red Grenache.

In the winemaking room, steel tanks and French oak barrels coexist with terracotta amphorae that recover ancient Iberian techniques. The guide explains the winery's eco-sustainable philosophy: manual harvesting, indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention.

The tasting is held in the old kitchen, now renovated with large windows. You will taste:

  1. White Lluerna - White Grenache fermented in stainless steel, notes of pear and fennel.
  2. Rosé Cadac - A blend of syrah and grenache, red berries and a saline touch.
  3. Tinto Perafita - Cariñena from old vines and aged for 12 months, silky tannins
  4. Dolç de Gerret - Natural sweet wine, perfect with local goat cheese.

Each wine is paired with fuet de l'Empordà, anchovies from l'Escala, coca bread with arbequina oil and sugared almonds.

At the end, you'll have free time to stroll among the olive trees, buy signed bottles in the shop or book a table in the panoramic restaurant (optional).

A walk among the vines and a tasting with the Cap de Creus breeze in the background. Just a little hot in the farmhouse, but it was enough.

I learned about the Carignan grape and the limestone soil. Small group, full attention.

The best thing was the sea in the distance as we tasted wine. Relaxed, intimate and well explained.

Very tasty Grenache, clear and friendly guide. Only climbing in July required a hat and water, but it was unforgettable.
