Step by Step
Enjoy the full Montserrat experience with this combo card that takes you from Barcelona to the top of the sacred mountain, home to the Benedictine Monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat. Start your journey by taking the train from Plaça Espanya, followed by a spectacular rack railway ride, which climbs through mountain scenery to an altitude of over 600 metres.
Once at the top, the tour continues with a visit to the Monastery and Basilica, where the 12th-century Black Madonna, the Moreneta, is located. You will have access to the dressing room at a time reserved for you, a special opportunity to get a close-up view of this figure so venerated by the Catalans.
Your ticket also allows you to explore the Museum of Montserrat, which houses an impressive art collection with works by Caravaggio, Dalí, Picasso, El Greco and many more. Complement your visit with the audiovisual screening "Montserrat Behind Closed Doors", which reveals the secrets of the monastery, its history and spiritual significance.
And if your visit coincides with the right moment, you can listen to the children's choir of the Escolania de Montserrat singing the "Salve" and the "Virolai", a moment that many describe as magical.
