Experience Highlights

The tour includes free pick-up from your hotel or bus station in Paracas (not applicable for cruise passengers), as well as the return transfer.

Along the way, you will see the mysterious Paracas Candelabra carved into the hillside and, sea conditions permitting, you will sail past natural caves. Bring a hat and sunscreen to protect you from the sun and the occasional splash of bird guano.

Step by Step

The tour starts when you are picked up from your hotel or the bus station inside Paracas (include the name of your accommodation in the next step of the booking). After a short transfer to the Tourist Marina, you will board the boat for the journey to the Ballestas Islands, known as the "poor man's Galapagos".

On the way, your guide will tell you the theories about the origin of the Candelabro de Paracas, a geoglyph still without definitive explanation, visible from the sea.

When you reach the islands, you will marvel at the colonies of corn parrot, the friendly Humboldt penguins and the boisterous sea lions resting on the cliffs. You'll cruise at a safe distance, admiring the scenery and rock formations, and, swell permitting, you can peek into one of the sea caves that dot the coastline.

This tour is designed to be a comfortable and safe experience: you'll wear a life jacket at all times and the pilot will manoeuvre expertly to give you the best views.

At the end of your tour, you will return across the Paracas peninsula and enjoy panoramic views of the coastal desert. Finally, you will disembark at the marina and a vehicle will take you back to your accommodation or meeting point, bringing to a close an unforgettable adventure on the Peruvian coast.
