This guided tour of Te Puia, featuring the Te Pō evening experience and dinner, takes you to the heart of one of Rotorua’s most iconic sites. During the tour, you’ll discover the Te Whakarewarewa geothermal valley, where you can see the Pōhutu geyser, mud pools, fumaroles and other geothermal phenomena that form part of the landscape of this region of New Zealand.

The experience also includes a visit to the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute, where you’ll see how students keep traditional techniques such as Māori carving and weaving alive. You’ll also visit Rotowhio Pā, the Āhua Gallery and the Kiwi Conservation Centre, where you can observe the iconic kiwi in a conservation-focused environment.

Next comes one of the most special moments of the afternoon: a Māori cultural performance in a carved meeting house, featuring a hāka experience lasting around 30 minutes. It’s an intimate and thrilling way to discover the songs, movements and traditions that form part of Māori identity.
