Step by Step
Your adventure starts early in the morning at the Blue Grotto, located on the south coast of Malta. Thanks to the morning sun, the waters take on electric blue tones that you can hardly believe. Your guide will explain the geological formation of these marine caverns and the details that make this one of the most photographed places on the island.
If you wish, you can embark on a 20-minute boat ride (separate ticket) that takes you to the heart of the grotto, where you will feel the breeze and hear the roar of the sea against the rock walls. It's an optional experience that many consider a must-do.
Next, enjoy a comfortable transfer to Marsaxlokk, the picturesque fishing village famous for its Sunday market. Here you'll be immersed in the colourful luzzu (traditional boats), fresh fish and seafood stalls and a variety of local handicrafts, honeys, jams and souvenirs. Your guide will point out the best products and tell you anecdotes about the life of the fishermen.
As you stroll among the stalls, you will learn about the Galastrian traditions of Marsaxlokk, its links with the Order of St. John and the way of life of its inhabitants. You will have some free time to buy some handicrafts or simply enjoy a drink (not included) by the harbour.
At the end of the tour, you will return by car to your point of origin, with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean along the way. It will be the perfect end to a half-day tour that combines nature, culture and gastronomy in its purest form.
