Step by Step
Step into a surreal version of the traditional Malay dwelling at the Upside Down House Gallery. Built by a director with over 10 years' experience, this attraction has become a new Melaka icon, ideal for families and groups of friends.
The tour is divided into five rooms that faithfully reproduce the furnishings and decor of a real house, but everything is inverted: lamps, paintings, kitchens, beds... Even the entrance portal is designed so that your photographs are completely "in the air".
In the living room, stand on the sofa... or under it! In the kitchen, pretend you're having breakfast on the ceiling, and in the nursery , play with perspective next to the flying cot. Don't forget to try original angles in the bathroom and in the master bedroom, where you can pose "walk backwards" on the bed.
The helpful staff will be happy to suggest fun poses and point out the best frames. In addition, the gallery has a capacity control, temperature checkpoint, supervised distance and frequent sanitisation for your safety.
After your visit, you can explore the area around Mahkota Square, where shops, cafes and street food stalls abound.
