Step by Step
Escape from the capital with a complete tour of Kamakura that combines culture, sea and nostalgia aboard the charming Enoshima Electric Railway (Enoden). You'll leave Tokyo in the morning to make the most of the day and return at sunset, your phone memory full of photos.
Your first big stop is the Great Buddha of Kamakura (Kōtoku-in), one of Japan's iconic landmarks. Here you'll have time to admire the bronze statue and the temple's surroundings, before walking to Hase Station for the Enoden experience (ticket included).
On board the Enoden, a historic train along the coast, you will arrive at the level crossing in front of Kamakura High School, famous for its appearance in the anime Slam Dunk: a perfect place to take pictures with the Pacific in the background. Afterwards, continue to Enoshima, a shrine island with viewpoints, shrines and narrow streets with snack stalls.
In the afternoon, the itinerary takes you to Tsurugaoka Hachimangū Shrine, the spiritual heart of Kamakura, and then to Komachi Street, the bustling shopping street, ideal for souvenirs and local sweets before returning to Tokyo.
The whole day is coordinated and timed so you can see the essentials in comfort: vehicle according to group size, well-measured stops and support at key points. It's a simple and efficient way to discover Kamakura in just one day.
