On board a comfortable boat with sundeck and deck area, you will toast with an aperitif of Calabrian wines, prosecco and local delicacies as the sun sets behind the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The meeting point is the main dock in Tropea (next to the Clock Tower); the crew speaks Italian and English and welcomes travellers of all ages. You'll return in the dead of night with your camera full of silvery reflections and the sea breeze still on your skin.

Step by Step

On boarding, the crew gives you a brief safety briefing before you cast off. The hull glides past the iconic sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola, whose medieval silhouette contrasts with the deep blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea. As soon as the engine picks up cruising pace, the captain pours the first glass of Cirò wine as the boat heads towards Grotticelle, a cove of turquoise waters guarded by tuff cliffs.

The light begins to turn golden and the coast reveals secret beaches accessible only by sea: the crew descends the ladder and, if you wish, you can take a quick dip or simply gaze at the caves and rock formations that gave the Costa degli Dei its name. On deck, the table is filled with freshly baked focaccia, soft 'nduja sausage and black olives; the scent of oregano and olive oil perfumes the air.

Arriving at the cliffs of Capo Vaticano, one of Calabria's most spectacular natural viewpoints, the boat slows down; it's time for the second round, this time a chilled prosecco bubbling as the sun skims the horizon line. The sky is painted orange, fuchsia and violet, and the façades of Tropea begin to light up in the distance. The crew encourages passengers to photograph the moment or simply close their eyes to listen to the murmur of the waves against the bow.

On the way back, the conversation relaxes: the guide shares stories of mermaids and Saracen pirates who, according to legend, plied these waters centuries ago. With the last glimmer of light, the captain points towards the sanctuary, now illuminated, and the boat lines up for the final postcard of the voyage. On docking again in Tropea, the streetlights reflect their beams on the harbour and bid farewell to an evening that combines landscape, flavour and Mediterranean tradition at its best.
