Step by Step
Embark on a scenic cruise of about 1 hour on the waters of Lake Garda, skirting the peninsula of Sirmione and enjoying views of its historic castle and dream villas. The gentle swaying of the boat will allow you to appreciate from the water the unique geography of the lake and the cliffs that shelter the town.
When you disembark, your guide will lead you on a walking tour through the picturesque streets of Old Sirmione. You'll pass ancient walls, centuries-old fountains and typical shops, while listening to anecdotes about its Roman and medieval past. You will have time to stop at an ice-cream parlour or craft shop before continuing.
The second part of the tour takes you to the hill of the Grotte di Catullo, an extensive complex of Roman ruins that dominates the tip of the peninsula. There you will enter with your ticket included and explore the remains of the maritime villa, admiring the impressively preserved walls, mosaics and views of the lake.
Your guide will explain the function of each room, the life of its ancient inhabitants and the loves and tragedies that inspired the name "Catullus", the famous Roman poet linked to this place. Thanks to the small group size, you will be able to ask all your questions and enjoy an intimate experience.
At the end of the day, you will return to the city centre, where you can enjoy a gelato or a coffee before the final disembarkation. This combination of sailing, walking and archaeology offers you the perfect mix of relaxation, culture and discovery.
