Step by Step
Experience the essence of Rome on two wheels as you explore it on a Vespa, the classic Italian-made scooter.
To hire one, all you need is a valid driving licence for the country; or, if you prefer, you can take the Vespa tour with a driver, who will also act as your guide specialising in the history of the ‘Eternal City’.
You’ll ride past the Italian capital’s most iconic sights for around 3 hours:
- Rione Monti and Trastevere: two of Rome’s most iconic neighbourhoods, which divide the city into districts. Their picturesque streets, featuring Renaissance, Baroque and medieval architecture, are a delight for tourists.
- The Colosseum: the city’s most important landmark, the entertainment arena of the Imperial Era where gladiators fought to the death against one another and against wild beasts before a crowd of Romans.
- Circus Maximus: the ruins of the stadium that was the epicentre of the Roman Games, inaugurated in the 6th century BC with a capacity of over 300,000 people.
- The Orange Grove: offers one of the most beautiful views of Rome, amidst green spaces and orange trees, which exude a captivating sense of harmony for tourists
- Pantheon of Agrippa: inaugurated in 125 AD; the legendary Pantheon has a dome weighing 4,535 tonnes, built entirely of in-situ concrete, the largest in the world.
As well as discovering the monuments where Rome’s sacred history was written, your driver will park the motorbike to take you on an idyllic stroll through Piazza Navona, a romantic square that conceals the ruins of the ancient Stadium of Domitian beneath its surface.
As you enter Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, you’ll be able to take photos of the equestrian statue dedicated to this important hero of the Italian Revolution.
And, of course, to round off your Vespa tour, you’ll ensure you return to Rome by tossing a coin into the Trevi Fountain, the most famous in the Italian capital.
