Step by Step

This ticket gives you access to Cinecittà World, the theme park dedicated to cinema, to Aquaworld, the water park, and to Roma World, a theme park dedicated to Ancient Rome. All are located in Castel Romano, on the very site where the studios of Dino De Laurentiis, the renowned producer behind many classic Italian feature films, once stood. They are designed for visitors of all ages, from children to adults.

Cinecittà World is renowned for its spectacular sets designed by Dante Ferretti, an art director with three Oscars to his name. Some of these sets have featured in cult films such as *Gangs of New York* and *Ben-Hur*. Here you can enjoy live shows and dozens of attractions. Some of the highlights include:

  • Jurassic War – A 4D simulator that brings Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops and Velociraptors back to life. A small train will take you on an adrenaline-fuelled adventure
  • Inferno – The rollercoaster in the dark. It reaches speeds of 70 km/h and winds its way through landscapes inspired by Dante’s eponymous work
  • Salto Pazzo – A three-level trampoline for jumping into the void. A large inflatable mat ensures a soft landing
  • Treno del West – A children’s ride that recreates the atmosphere of the Wild West
  • KamikICE – An indoor track with snow all year round. It is designed for slides on inflatable ‘donuts’ for one or two people

Thanks to its indoor attractions (more than 20), Cinecittà World can also be enjoyed when it rains.

Aquaworld, on the other hand, is an ideal option for cooling off during the warmer months. It features a huge swimming pool surrounded by a beach area equipped with sun loungers and parasols. Its centrepiece is the Cinepiscina, a large screen where films and sports matches are shown. There’s no shortage of more dynamic activities either, such as Aktium (a water rollercoaster set in ancient Rome) and Paradiso, a ‘lazy river’ that winds through a tropical landscape.

Roma World, meanwhile, offers a wide variety of activities set in Ancient Rome. You can enjoy markets, workshops, fancy dress, animal shows and much more.

As it is located in Castel Romano, the recommended mode of transport is the shuttle bus that departs from the EUR Palasport metro station (line B). Tickets must be purchased separately.

There were still some things we didn’t get to see, but we left happy. Highly recommended for families looking for a change from ruins and museums.

The site is well worth spending the whole day exploring. I was surprised by the number of indoor attractions.

The haunted house gave us more of a fright than we’d expected. The park has a really fun vibe if you’re up for trying new things.

The 4D simulator and the water rollercoaster were my favourites. There were queues, yes, but nothing to spoil the visit.
