Step by Step
Your expedition starts with pick-up from your accommodation in Banyuwangi. A 4WD jeep will take you on the most authentic route: jungles, plantations and several river crossings will give you a foretaste of the adventure you will experience. After approximately 4 hours you will make a quick stop at Rajegwesi Beach to stretch your legs and enjoy a typical lunch at Sarongan Village.
In the late afternoon you will arrive at Sukamade Beach, inside the Meru Betiri National Park, where you will stay in a simple but comfortable conservation guesthouse. After dark, you'll head out with your ranger to the gentle murmur of the ocean to witness the nesting process of the sea turtles. If you're lucky, you may see several turtles digging and laying their eggs.
At midnight or after a rest, the second day begins with an early wake-up call to witness the emotional release of the tukik. After breakfast, you will head to Green Bay (Teluk Hijau). The final 30-minute descent down a forested trail is worth every step: a white sandy beach with emerald green waters, sheltered by jungle cliffs, awaits you. You will have free time to swim and explore the area.
Depending on your energy, you may choose to stop at a nearby plantation to explore or head straight back to the starting point in Banyuwangi. The tour concludes by dropping you off at your hotel or train station, with the satisfaction of having had an unforgettable ecotourism experience.
