The full day excursion (approx. 10 hours) includes a Polynesian barbecue lunch, unlimited soft drinks and snorkelling equipment to explore coral gardens teeming with tropical fish. Step by Step

The day begins at 06:30 with embarkation at Papeete harbour; a small Tahitian coffee and local pastries welcome you as the crew go over safety regulations. As you leave the harbour, you will see the Moorea' s profile fade into the distance as the sun dyes the Pacific pink.

During the sail, the captain explains how Tetiaroa was once a retreat for Tahitian royalty and today is a breeding sanctuary for seabirds and green turtles. With a bit of luck, spinner dolphins or mobula rays will accompany the bow; the crew slows down so you can photograph them.

Upon arrival at the atoll, an auxiliary boat disembarks the group on a private motu. Under the palm trees, a Polynesian buffet is set up with grilled fish, uru (breadfruit) salad, coconut poe and fresh fruit. Water, soft drinks and juices are available throughout the day.

After lunch, the guide leads a snorkelling session over a garden of hard and soft corals inhabited by butterfly fish, blue parrotfish and small, totally harmless reef sharks. For those who prefer dry land, an interpretative walk among frigate bird nests and pandanus trees is organised.

The return trip departs around 15:00, when the trade winds cool the deck. Enjoy fresh fruit, cold coffee and ukulele music as the catamaran sails towards Tahiti. Arrival in port is expected around 5.30pm, with plenty of time for a sundowner on the Vai'ete esplanade.
