Step by Step
The tour starts at the Saint-Émilion monolith, where your guide explains the village's thousand-year history and introduces the vineyard route linking two limited-production châteaux. Entering the first cellar, you will walk through underground galleries and barrel rooms where you will learn about the gravel and clay terroir and how it influences the character of the wine. The welcome tasting of Rosso de Saint-Émilion, with its fruity freshness, prepares the palate for the next encounter.
The second visit takes place in an emblematic château, with its centuries-old vines and English garden. There, under the shade of a vine, the guide reveals the secrets of barrel fermentation and the importance of long ageing. You will taste a Brunello... sorry, not a Brunello, a Grand Cru, with round tannins and notes of candied cherry, while you gaze at the towers of the collegiate church behind the vineyards.
The picnic is served at a rustic table set among the furrows, presiding over a seasonal salad, artisan cheeses, local cured meats and freshly baked bread. Each dish is paired with a different wine - Rosso, Grand Cru and a signature wine - which you will complete with the sommelier's explanation on pairing and conservation.
