Step by Step

The bus leaves Paris early and heads towards the green meadows of Normandy. Between gentle curves, the silhouette of Mont Saint-Michel suddenly appears above the sea mist. After crossing the pedestrian footbridge, you will walk along the Rue Grande to the summit where the Benedictine abbey stands, a true "Wonder of the West". Your guide will explain how its Romanesque and Gothic architecture intertwine in a small space surrounded by the fastest tides in Europe. In the afternoon, the road turns inland to the Loire Valley, where a 4★ hotel and local cuisine with Vouvray wines and creamy goat's cheeses await.

The second day begins with golden light over the vineyards. The first palace on the itinerary is Chenonceau, which sprawls over stone arches on the Cher River and holds rooms decorated by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici. The guide details the lives of these influential women as you wander through rose-scented Renaissance gardens. From there, the journey continues along poplar-lined roads to the majestic Château de Chambord (or Cheverny, depending on availability). Its turrets and the famous double helix staircase reflect the ambition of François I and the imprint of Leonardo da Vinci. At the end of the visit, you will have free time for a light lunch in Amboise before returning to the capital.

During the afternoon, the forests of the Loire are tinged with amber and the troglodyte villages carved out of the tuff parade behind the window. Arrival in Paris is scheduled for around 8 p.m., when twilight caresses the Seine and brings to a close two days of art, landscape and heritage.
