Step by Step
Discover the world’s greatest works of art as a family by joining this guided tour of the Louvre Museum for children. A professional guide specialising in teaching children will accompany you on a tour brimming with culture and history, exclusively for you and your group.
You can choose between a two- or three-hour tour, depending on your preferences and the ages of your children.
Together with your little ones, you’ll admire paintings such as Leonardo da Vinci’s *La Gioconda*, also known as the *Mona Lisa*, considered the most famous painting in the world.
You’ll enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience as you explore the museum’s 300 galleries, which house over 35,000 priceless works of art by artists such as Michelangelo, Jacques-Louis David, Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Théodore Géricault, amongst many others.
As well as the paintings, you’ll find a wealth of landmark sculptures, such as the Venus de Milo, which dates from 120 BC and is said to depict Aphrodite, the goddess of love.
Another must-see statue is the Winged Victory of Samothrace, believed to have been sculpted in 190 BC. It depicts an angel standing some three metres tall, whose arms and head were never found, making it a truly beautiful, mysterious and enigmatic work of art.
If you’d like to take the experience to the next level, there’s an educational studio on the ground floor of the Richelieu Wing, where free activities are held in French, so that children can paint and engage with art as the centrepiece of the experience.
Reviews
- RR.The 3 of us are very happy to have done the tour, it was a lovely afternoon with the family where we were learning together and having a good time. I highly recommend the tour.
- NN.The tour was much better than we expected, although it doesn't include snacks, that's the only negative thing I can find. I hope that in the future they will include something for children, the parents would really appreciate it.
- AA.A very beautiful tour to do with the family, when it was over my children didn't want to leave.
- MM.I love this tour, it's the second time I've done it and I'm really happy with it. My daughter was very happy, she even made a new friend!
