Experience Highlights

Travel 66 million years back in time with tickets to L'Atelier des Lumières in Paris - "Prehistoric Planet: Dinosaurs - The Immersive Experience" exhibition. In this former industrial workshop transformed into a digital art centre, the walls, floor and ceiling become a giant screen where life-size dinosaurs and prehistoric landscapes come to life in 360°.

For about 50 minutes, you will be immersed in a journey through the oceans, forests and plains of the dinosaur era: from giant sea creatures to predators such as Tyrannosaurus rex, with a staging that combines emotion, visual spectacle and scientific background. The narration is in French, with English subtitles, but the experience is mostly visual, perfect even if you don't speak the language.

The exhibition is held at the Atelier des Lumières, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, in a space that is accessible and particularly recommended for families, dinosaur and nature lovers (recommended age from 6 years old). All you have to do is show up at your chosen time slot and let yourself be enveloped by light, sound and giant images.

  • Travel back to the age of dinosaurs with an immersive 360º experience.

  • Enjoy monumental projections and immersive sound.

  • Perfect indoor plan, ideal for families and fans of natural history

Step by Step

With your tickets to L'Atelier des Lumières - "Prehistoric Planet: Dinosaurs - The Immersive Experience" you will enter a space where digital art and science come together to recreate the lost world of prehistoric giants. Instead of seeing fossils in glass cases, you will literally walk through Jurassic and Cretaceous landscapes, surrounded by life-size projections covering walls, floor and ceiling.

The experience is inspired by a documentary approach to prehistoric life and combines spectacular images with a narrative based on current scientific knowledge. You will travel along ancient coasts, oceans, forests and plains, encountering land dinosaurs, flying creatures and marine predators, right up to scenes featuring the mythical T. rex. All accompanied by an immersive soundtrack that enhances every moment.

The narration is in French and is accompanied by English subtitles, but the core of the proposal is visual: it is an experience designed for children and adults to be fascinated by the movement, scale and details of these extinct animals. You don't need any knowledge of palaeontology to enjoy it; all you need to do is watch, listen and let yourself be amazed.

The visit lasts approximately 50 minutes, during which time you can move freely around the large hall and the different areas of the Atelier. You can stand, sit on the floor or change your perspective to see how the projections change depending on the point from which you look at them. It's an ideal plan for families, couples and groups of friends looking for something different from a traditional museum, in an indoor setting that's perfect for any time of year.

Located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, L'Atelier des Lumières is easily accessible by public transport and is adapted for people with reduced mobility, including access to the high areas. It's a highly recommended stop on any trip to Paris, especially if you're travelling with children or if you're passionate about dinosaurs and great visual productions.

Fascinating. That is the word that best describes my experience at the Atelier des Lumières. I can't believe what can be achieved with technology and art combined.

The size of the space is impressive. You feel small in front of the huge projections that fill the walls. It is an immersive experience that transports you to another world.

I would recommend visiting the Atelier des Lumières at different times of the day, as the lights and colours change and create different atmospheres. Each visit is unique.
